A joint project of University of San Carlos and Holy Name University in cooperation with the Diocese of Tagbilaran and Province of Bohol

Pagsulay, Churches of Bohol Before and After the 2013 Earthquake is a 240-page full color book on the parish churches of both the Diocese of Tagbilaran and the Diocese of Talibon that were implicated in one way or another by the 7.2 Magnitude earthquake that struck Bohol and Cebu on October 15 last year. The word Pagsulay is the Bol-anon and Cebuano word for a test or a trial and was chosen as the book's main title because last year's devastating tremor ought to be seen as a test of the faith and resilience of the people of Bohol.

Over 500 full-color photographs taken a month after the earthquake by two renowned photographers provide the reader with dramatic images of devastation as well as hope. Together with these images is an ample discussion of the history of the churches, convents, and cemeteries that are included in the book.

The end goal of this is not only to provide current and future generations with a glimpse of what have been lost but also to help raise funds to repair and rehabilitate those that have managed to survive against all odds.
