ASIAN STUDIES: The Land, The People, and the Culture (Araling Panlipunan for Grade 7)

Jonathan C. Foe and Maria Corazon B. Parco

Welcome to Asian Studies! We wrote and designed this book with you in mind. The new approach to this course emphasizes geography and culture, which will help you later in life. You are graduating into a borderless world, especially here in Southeast Asia. Many of the you will choose to work overseas, and will interact with different types of people from different nationalities. This course will help you understand other Asians and their nations.

By the time you finish reading this book, you will have acquired a better understanding of events that are happening today. By learning about other Asian nations, you will see the areas where the Philippines excels in, and the areas where it lags behind. As an informed citizen of the world, you will be able to make sense of and develop your own opinion about events. In addition, this book can expand your daily reading, listening, and vocabulary skills.

This may be the last time you will study Asia, because it is not a subject usually offered in college, so, do not take Asian Studies for granted

Making Sense of World History, 2nd Edition

by Jonathan Foe, et. al.

This book aims to give you a clear sense of history by focusing on historical trends and tries to reduce the large number of specific dates and names to memorize. As the authors believe recent history is more important, much of the book focuses on events of the 1900s.
